A text editor with memory?

Anyone know of a text editor that autosaves files even when they don’t exist on disk? I wrote a long post for this weblog this morning (and it was better than my usual posts), came back to the computer just now, and closed the text editor - clicking ‘No’ to the ‘Do you want to save changes?’ dialogue as well, without even bothering to look.

Hmmmph.

Give a look at Onenote from MS. It auto saves while you are creating document.

Thanks for the suggestion, it looks good. However, I don’t want to part with that much cash just to autosave. Are there any cheaper/free editors that do this as well?

Ahh, found I got a free copy of OneNote 2003 for being registered on a Computer Science course. I’m going to try using that now - until ecto 2 is out when I’ll try using that to write blog entries!
