Anyone come across a good *free* membership database manger for a club or society? Currently a society I’m in uses an Excel spreadsheet, which is fine until more than one person wants to edit it. It only needs to be as fancy as ‘Automatically upload when saved in Excel’ or something, or a desktop program that synchronises to a file stored on the website. I’ve suggested an online web-based membership database, but the hosting doesn’t support it, and I don’t want to code it either ![]()

Hi Peter,
I was also looking for a free service of such. Try http://www.ebase.org/
Please let me know if found any other software (particularly, one that offers a web interface)
Thanks!

Though I haven’t used this, I was trawling for some ideas on membership database to help with my own development, and found this: http://www.flamingspork.com/projects/memberdb/
May be of some interest?
Regards,
Andrew
I’ve been searching myself and have literllay seen > 100. They range from not working to real ripoffs at thousands of dollars. The best one I’ve seen so far is about $150 Called “member ties”. It won’t work for us as it does not support our local language, but otherwise would be our choice.
If it would work for me, I think Zoho Creator would have been ideal for my original need. Do give it a try if you haven’t already.
Workspace live online by Microsoft Office allows you to add files and share them. You can download it and update it, and when you save it again (keep the original name), it’ll replace the older version. It’s all online so anyone can sign in and update it. Hope that helps.
If you use a ‘Database’ you will overcome the single user problem. Why not use Access, this can also be synchronised to the back-end of a website.
