Synchronise slideshow to music

Hoping someone can suggest a program to do this…

I will hopefully (if I take enough photos) have the need to set a slideshow to music for a presentation via a video projector. Never having done this before I’ve no idea what software to use, and googling hasn’t turned up anything that looks suitable.

I don’t want a package that just plays the slides every n seconds - they need to be fitted in with the music (or just fixed at certain points of the track, then evenly spaced until the next point, if that makes any sense).

Something free would be useful as well!

Thanks for the suggestion. That tool looks like it’d do what I need, but I have Office 2000 which it won’t work with :-(
And I don’t want to upgrade Microsoft Office as it does everything I need it to…

Found a tool to do what I want: Microsoft’s free “Windows Movie Maker”:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/moviemaker/default.asp for XP. I’ve had great results from it and it seems to be almost as full featured as my housemate’s copy of Ulead VideoStudio 7.

You might want to check out Memories on TV - it makes pretty cool slideshows, and you can sync them to music (I’m just getting started on it, so I’m not sure how fine grained you can get)

The url is http://www.picturetotv.com

The best I’ve found is Photoshop ProShow Gold from Photodex
